Knowsley Flower ShowSunday 7 August 2016National Wildflower Centre, Court Hey Park, L163NAFree
2016 is The Year of the English Garden, and that is the theme of the 18th Knowsley Flower Show. It is a celebration of the 300th anniversary of the birth of Capability Brown, a landscape gardener who revolutionised the design of English gardens. Obviously, through the centuries, garden styles have changed but the quintessential English gardens he created still exist.
Entering the marquee will be like stepping into the past, full of colour and scent evoking English gardens past and present.
The Knowsley Flower Show is back on Sunday 7th August and is celebrating its 18th year. The show is the largest FREE horticultural Show in the North West, attracting up to 20,000 people. Starting at 11.am till 5.pm the show is set in the grounds of Court Hey Park - home of National Wildflower Centre and former residence of the late Robertson Gladstone, elder brother of four times Victorian Prime Minster William Gladstone.
This year's show is expected to be bigger and better than ever. If you've never visited the show before you will be in for a pleasant surprise.
As well as a giant floral marquee - which is always a blaze of colour and which houses over 400 exhibits - there will be plenty of entertainment and attractions on offer. A large craft marquee will feature in the show along with many trade stands ranging from garden centres to conservatories.
