Chilean Wine Maker To Share His Expertise

We haven�t experienced the best of British summer weather recently, so if you�re craving the feeling of sunnier climes, then join The Monro Group for an evening of fantastic wine matched with a delicious four course menu. On Wednesday 4th July, The Monro on Duke Street will play host to Giorgio Flessati, one of Chile�s celebrated wine producers, for a very special wine tasting dinner.
Having travelled from the vineyards of the Elqui Valley in Chile, Giorgio will be showcasing his skill and experience in the warm and relaxed ambiance of The Monro. The evening will feature a specially tailored menu, created in partnership between The Monro�s head chef Leigh Harvey and Giorgio, which brings together fine Chilean wine with the best of British cooking.
Hailed as an expert, and part of the Falernia family of wine producers, Giorgio�s visit and personal attendance is an extremely rare event for wine lovers across Liverpool. Falernia has received such prestigious awards as Gold Medals from both the Decanter World Wine Awards and the International Wine Challenge. The Monro is a long standing stockist of the finest of Falernia�s wines, and here is your chance to hear from the man who makes them.

Those attending this very special wine tasting dinner will enjoy dishes such as Slow Poached Grouper with Asparagus and Spring Baby Leeks and Short Beef Ribs served with Braised Rice and South American Beans. Each course will be served with a chosen glass of wine and a delicious glass on arrival to whet your appetite for the evening�s culinary journey.

Arrival Drink

Slow poached Grouper with asparagus and spring baby leeks.
Served with Sauvignon Blanc.

Short Beef ribs served with braised rice and South American Beans.
Served with Carmenere/Syrah reserve
Sorbet using Falernia Sours
Dessert
Brigadieros. South American truffles. One with Plain 85% cocoa chocolate, one with cherries and one with ginger.
