The Liverpool Hoteliers Association and some of our best known restaurants are getting behind the official charity of the John Smith's Grand National in their own way this year. Eight hotels, including The Marriott and Hope Street Hotel are inviting race goers who stay with them over the festival to "Check-in for Children" and add just �1 to their room bill for the world famous children's hospital.

In addition, those who venture into the city centre having enjoyed a day at the 2009 John Smith's Grand National can take part in the "Imagine Meal Appeal". Some of the city's top restaurants including PanAm Restaurant and What's Cooking will be adding the optional �1 donation to their bills in order to raise vitally needed funds for Alder Hey Imagine Appeal.

Stephen Roberts Chair of the Liverpool Hoteliers Association and Manager of Crowne Plaza said,
�The Liverpool Hotels are delighted to support the Imagine Appeal over Grand National week and are delighted the response from the hotels has been unanimous.�

Suzanne Watson, Marketing Manager for PanAm Restaurant added,
�PanAm is famous for its Grand National packages and this year we are delighted to get involved with the 'Imagine Meal Appeal' each of our patrons have the opportunity to directly affect a local charity doing amazing work for local children�

Chris Done from Alder Hey Imagine Appeal said,
�This is a fantastic way for those enjoying the John Smith's Grand National to show their support for the work undertaken at Europe's busiest children's hospital.
