Sign up to abseil down Liverpool's largest student accommodation in support of a Nobel Peace Prizewinning landmine clearance charity.

Manchester-based MAG (Mines Advisory Group) is holding the abseil on Sunday 25 October 2009 at the Grand Central Halls in Liverpool.

MAG's Wirral-born Chief Executive Lou McGrath OBE is urging people to sign up and help MAG rid the world of landmines and other unexploded ordnance. He said:

�MAG really needs as many people as possible to take this challenge and support us.. We�ve been working for 20 years to stop people, especially children, being killed and maimed by mines and other weapons but we still have a lot of work to do. Amongst other things, funds raised by events like this help pay for MAG�s emergency response teams who save hundreds of lives in the immediate days after conflict � the time when most are killed or injured by unexploded bombs. So sign up, take a deep breath and step over the edge. It�ll be a day you won�t forget.�

The event is open to people of all abilities � from first-timers to experienced climbers. Spaces are limited, so people keen to take the leap are urged to sign up now to avoid missing out.
