Arena and Convention Centre Liverpool, Monarchs Quay, Liverpool, L3 4FP show on map RUSSELL BRAND TO EMBARK ON HIS FIRST EVER WORLD TOURBRAND’S “THE MESSIAH COMPLEX” COMING SOON Comedian, actor and author, Russell Brand announces his first ever world stand-up tour and will be visiting The Auditorium at Echo Arena Liverpool on 12 December 2013 and the newly announced date of 15 February 2014. Keeping in line with Brand’s comedic style, the tour, officially named “Messiah Complex,” will be a dissection of various social and religious figures and the reality of their lives through comparisons of each other. Messiah Complex is a mental disorder where you think you might be the messiah. Did Jesus have it? What about Che Guevara, Gandhi, Malcolm X and Hitler? All these men have shaped our lives and influenced the way we think. Their images are used to represent ideas that often do not relate to them at all. Would Gandhi be into apple? Would Che Guevara endorse Madonna? Would Jesus be into Christianity? All great people are flawed, all of us, flawed people are capable of greatness and for every identifiable icon there is an anonymous mob of unrecognized bods doing all the admin and heavy lifting. This show looks at the importance of heroes in this age of atheistic disposability. Plus there's sex. Obviously. Brand states, “I am going to tour The World (our one, Earth) with Messiah Complex, causing bother and excitement and offering opinions that have not been either solicited or thought through. Of course I'll be in English speaking countries (UK, Ireland, US, Canada) but also Scandinavia, Russia, Israel, Lebanon, Palestine; anywhere that will have me to be honest and that are relaxed about free speech. As well as theatres I will be appearing in prisons, drug rehabs, social network HQs, universities, nationalist organisations, Mosques, foreclosed houses, protest sites, Synagogues and in people's private homes. I dedicate this Messiah Complex tour to the four men that are it's subject, Che Guevara, Gandhi, Malcolm X and Jesus - I know this is what they would have wanted. If this is the end of the world I'm going to go out laughing with an erection.” STRICTLY COME DANCING THE LIVE TOURRETURNS FOR A FAB-U-LOUS SEVENTH YEAR As BBC One’s smash hit entertainment show Strictly Come Dancing returns to our TV screens, tickets for the 2014 Strictly Come Dancing Live UK Tour on sale from 9am on Monday 9 September 2013. Head Judge Len Goodman said: “It’s a great thrill to take the cream of what promises to be another electric TV series out on the road for the seventh Strictly UK Tour. Strictly will again pull out all the stops with an outstanding line up of celebs and I’m really looking forward to finding out who will be joining Craig, Bruno and myself on tour.” Craig Revel Horwood added: “Taking Strictly around the country and performing live to thousands of people every night is always such a pleasure. I’m extremely excited to be directing the show again, and already planning a fab-u-lous extravaganza. This tour will be the most amazing yet!” Bruno Tonoli agreed: “Another series of Strictly, another superb line up of beautiful celebs and an incredible seventh live tour… Who could ask for more?! Fantastico!” The tour has received rave reviews in the national newspapers since it began – the Mail on Sunday awarded the 2013 tour a 4 Star review and the Daily Telegraph said: “The glitzy occasion still sparkles... It was Fab-u-lous”. The Sunday Express have previously said of the tour: “7000 of us raised the roof. Does it get much better? Not often.” Last December a peak audience of more than 13 million viewers tuned in to watch the Strictly final on BBC One, when gymnast Louis Smith was crowned the winner.
